Study of the West U-District
In CEP 303: "Social Structures and Processes" the class was split into groups and each group was assigned a neighborhood to study. The neighborhood that my group was assigned was the West U-District in Seattle, WA. Our task for this neighborhood was to survey and map it through several different methods. These methods were: Mental Mapping, Demographic Mapping, and Asset Mapping. Within the group, I was assigned to focus on the Asset Mapping.

I walked around the neighborhood in person and took note of all the assets within our set boundaries. I then transferred these notes to a Google Sheets document and formatted it in a way that made it easy to navigate. I then wrote the Asset Mapping portion of the final report and assisted on the other sections where it was needed.

In CEP 473: "Digital Design Practicum" there were several projects that required us to focus on a site for our design work. I decided to focus on a smaller area within the boundaries of the West U-District. These projects were more of a visual study of the area, but they still required researching and understanding the area.

I used several different digital tools to create these projects including: Sketch-Up 3-D Modeler, Sketch-Up Layout, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.
