Library Project

I undertook this project with a couple of different goals in mind. The first of which was to practice my design skills and gain more experience with the design process. However, additionally I really wanted to attempt to design a classical style building. The classical style is such an important and prominent part of the history of architecture, and so much of architecture today is still heavily influenced by this style. I wanted to explore this style further by designing a building that fits within it. I chose to design a library because I have experienced many libraries that are heavily influenced by this style, and they work together well. I focused on using basic shapes for the design and made sure to add elements such as the columns, arches, and dome to match the classical style.

To complete this project I used a combination of hand drawing, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.
