Kitsap Transit Digital Inclusion Project

In CEP 460: "Planning In Context" the class was divided into groups and each group was to work with a real world client on an urban planning issue. The client that my group and I worked with was Sanjay Bhatt with Kitsap County Transit. Our scope for this project was to record the speed of the wireless connectivity at several different locations at different times of day on Bainbridge Island in Washington. In order to record these speeds, we used the FCC Speed Test App on phones with three different carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon) and recorded the results. From there we were tasked to visually represent the data and create a presentation to showcase this issue facing Bainbridge Island and provide some preliminary recommendations. This project was very valuable urban planning experience, as well as experience working in a real world setting with a real world client.

My group and I made four separate trips to Bainbridge Island to record the wireless connectivity at the different locations at different points in the day. Additionally, my main tasks within the group were to format the Google Sheets document that we used to organize our data collection, create all of the visual representations of the data that we collected, and format the final presentation.
